Role Specific

This role will focus on the development and readiness of the SMR operating organization to accept the BWRX-300 station following construction.
Operational functions under scope of this role include, but are not limited to: Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Training, Supply Chain, Radiation protection, Chemistry, Work Management etc.
This role will be responsible for integration of these operating organizations into the design, construction and commissioning phases to ensure operating model assumptions and critical path is maintained.
Understanding of station operating organizations considered an asset.

Qualifications

4-year university degree, Engineering, Science or Business; P. Eng. an asset; PMP an asset.
Over 6 years of project management experience, including developing project requirements, preparing cost estimates, participating in contract bidding, managing projects and contracts, and handling project closeout.
Familiarity with equipment and processes in hydroelectric generating stations or similar industries.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to provide guidance.
Knowledge of cost accounting and forecasting in project management.
Experience managing complex projects involving multiple contracts and stakeholders with schedule constraints.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Qualifications

Mimium 4 year University degree in Engineering, Science, Finance, Economics, Law or related fields.
Must have 8 or more years of relevant work experience in the energy industry;
Direct experience working in the Ontario electricity system and energy markets; hands-on involvement with market operations, market settlements, or market rules interpretation are considered assets.
Experience in the interpretation and application of IESO’s Market Rules and Market Manuals for asset operation in Ontario’s electricity market.
Experience with hydro operations and/or development and execution of market offer strategy in the Ontario electricity market, including familiarity with operational practices and policies, water management protocols and coordination with the IESO.

Perform electrical drafting. Install and fabricate electrical/control equipment. Carry out contract coordination and prepare quality control procedures. Maintain current operational and theoretical expertise in applicable systems, software and techniques. Maintain documents applicable to the work.
Install, commission, inspect, troubleshoot, service, maintain and overhaul and assist with the design for all electrical/ electronic/control/protection/telecommunication or testing equipment, associated with generating stations and facilities. Take appropriate preventative or corrective action.

Assist in the design of computer programs as required for the efficient operation of the station.

Qualifications

Completion of Grade 12 or international equivalent, plus a minimum two-year community college diploma in a relevant Technician, Technology, or related field of study*.

Valid Class G driver’s licence in good standing.
Flexibility to work rotating shifts and weekends, with availability to travel for training and field assignments, including occasional overnight stays.

• Assist in performing routine tasks involving, erecting, dismantling, reassembling, moving, loading and unloading, and servicing, materials, structures, furniture, buildings, hardware, equipment, and vehicles.
• Responsibilities are consistent with training and experience for performing basic trades operations.
• In accordance with prescribed safety procedures and regulations, performs routine service trades duties.
• Accountable for the health, safety and well-being of self and others, in accordance with procedures and standards.
• Operates portable, hand- and power-driven tools and equipment.
