KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Act as process owner for the regulatory accounts transaction and reporting processes, providing accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries associated with regulatory account balances, and interfacing with external and internal auditors in support of OPG’s monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes.
Collaborate with the broader finance team and other groups within OPG to prepare monthly forecasts of regulatory accounts in support of performance reporting and to support the annual business planning process through accurate and timely preparation of the regulatory account balances business plan.
Utilize a range of financial systems such as SAP to effectively manage and analyze financial data while maintaining a consistent framework for accounting activities across the organization.
Prepare submissions pursuant to the OEB’s reporting requirements for OPG for each year in accordance with the timelines set out by the OEB.
Assist in the application of new electricity rates for OPG in front of the OEB, including preparing evidence, preparing responses to questions from OEB staff and other key external stakeholders, and providing support as necessary during technical conferences and oral hearings.
Responsible for any ad-hoc information requests on regulatory accounts from both internal and external sources. The related information is high profile and requires a sound knowledge base of accounting and regulatory processes.
As applicable, oversee and/or design regulatory accounting integrated financial processes within corporate and/or between corporate and sites with a clear consideration of internal control implications.

QUALIFICATIONS

4 years of University in a business discipline (ie. Accounting, Commerce, Economics); CPA designation is required.
Minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
Experience in a public company or rate-regulated environment is an asset; experience in utilities, electricity, or power industries would be an asset.
Experience in a similar consultative role to provide advice, guidance and assistance in the application of financial accounting policies and procedures, including experience with IFRS and/or US GAAP, identifying key issues and assessing alternative solutions.
Demonstrated experience in the preparation and analysis of consolidated balance sheets and operating accounts, cash flows, and year-over-year analysis of various accounts, with knowledge of the requirements for the preparation of consolidated financial statements and financial reporting in a large organization.
High level of proficiency with the use of information technology tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook, as well as experience using large financial or integrated enterprise systems such as SAP Finance Modules and an affinity for using technology to find efficient ways to collate and disseminate knowledge.
A results-oriented self-starter who demonstrates a sense of urgency and sound decision-making skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment and effectively manage several projects simultaneously.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Maintains, operates and uses power tools, equipment and hand tools related to Civil Maintenance functions to carry out work assignments.
Operate forklifts, mobile and stationary cranes and trucks required to carry out work assignments.
Be knowledgeable of radiation protection and the use of contamination control equipment to protect self and prevent the spread of contamination in the work environment.
Perform housekeeping activities as required.

EDUCATION

Electrical/P&C engineering matters related to projects and Operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

4 year Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
Minimum 6 years experience in an Electrical Engineering role; Experience working in a Hydroelectric Generating Facility is preferred; Experience working in an Industrial Power Systems or Utilities organization.
Demonstrated knowledge of the OH&S Act and Regulations, especially for Industrial Establishments (Ont. Reg. 851) & Construction (Ont. Reg. 213) in Ontario & the Ontario Electrical Safety Code & various codes and standards associated with electrical engineering and application of their requirements.
Experience with planning and conducting assessments, studies, inspections, investigations, designing, evaluating, construction monitoring & maintenance of electrical works associated with hydroelectric generating stations.
Ability to Independently problem solve with methods and tools required for electrical engineering applications.
The Ideal candidate will have demonstrated knowledge and experience with AC & DC systems, communication, generator, and protection / control systems, grounding, instrumentation, LV, MV and HV systems & switchgear, oil containment, PLC's, transformers, teleprotections, and the regulatory requirements of electrical power systems in Ontario.
Software associated with electrical engineering, monitoring and instrumentation, Power System Analysis Software, SCADA systems, Data Historians MS Suite of software; Experience in analysis in electrical testing & results.
Report preparation, and strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work with people; result oriented, efficient & value-oriented focus, excellent verbal and written communicator, with high integrity to uphold company values including H&S, and protection of the environment;
Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a flexible hybrid office environment;

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for dynamic, strategic and results-driven professionals to join our team in the role of Nuclear Operator in Training.

This position is a training program to become a Nuclear Operator. Training can take up to 18 months to complete depending on the assigned stream.

Nuclear Operators are responsible for keeping the nuclear generating station safe under normal and abnormal conditions. They make rounds of their designated areas within the plant to check and maintain the operating status of equipment, complete routines and regular inspections and perform tests on equipment

JOB OVERVIEW

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Mechanical Technician - Welder.

This position, reporting to the Supervisor, Maintenance, involves joining pieces of metal or manufactured parts using metal filler and heat and/or pressure. The role includes constructing structures and repairing broken or cracked components according to specifications. Additionally, it requires carrying out specialized processes such as welding studs and brazing.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Lays out, cuts, and forms metals to specifications
Fits sub-assemblies and assemblies together and preparing assemblies for welding
Uses three major types of welding: arc, gas, and resistance
Uses various welding and cutting processes to join structural steel and cut metal in vessels, piping and other components
Fabricates parts, tools, machines and equipment
Joins parts being manufactured, builds structures and repairs damaged or worn parts
Controls for quality before, during and after welding.

EDUCATION

Have a minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent

QUALIFICATIONS

Hold a valid Certificate of Qualification (456A) or have 5+ years’ experience Pipe/welding with GTAW process on stainless steel & carbon steel
Preference given for post-secondary education (Union Hall and/or College program) in welding, but not mandatory
Must be able to pass a 6G open root pipe test using the GTAW & SMAW processes (F6-F4). The test specimen will then be subjected to NDE examination (non-destructive evaluation) consisting of visual, radiographic and destructive inspections for evaluation
5+ years’ experience, transferable CWB
Willing to work rotating 12-hour shifts (weekends/holidays)
Eligible to work in Canada and Canadian equivalency for foreign education, if applicable
Strong problem-solving, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; tech/computer comfortable; self-starter
Safety/environmental compliance focus; Health and Safety experience an asset
Technical: documentation/records, interpret drawings/manuals/tools, troubleshoot

QUALIFICATIONS

4 years of university and have achieved a professional accounting designation (i.e., CPA,CA, CGA, CMA).
Minimum of 8 years of related working experience.
Requires experience working in a financial or accounting environment in a comparable organization to become familiar in financial analysis, controllership and financial systems.
Experience with financial analysis, controllership and financial systems (SAP, Asset Suite, SAP BPC, PowerBI, Business Case Reviews, Business Unit Risk) is considered an asset.
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Sound professional judgment and decision making, critical thinking, attention to detail and creative problem-solving abilities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to influence and communicate effectively with key stakeholders at all levels of the company.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Support internal and external vulnerability scanning activities for operating systems and applications using approved vulnerability management platforms.

Incorporate threat intelligence, active exploitation trends, and known attack techniques to inform vulnerability prioritization and triage decisions.

Prepare vulnerability and exposure posture reports and dashboards covering trends, remediation progress, backlog aging, and risk exposure for technical and management stakeholders.
Support the effectiveness of integrations between vulnerability management tools and enterprise systems (e.g., service management, asset inventory, security monitoring) by validating data quality and workflow outcomes.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of vulnerability and threat exposure management processes, metrics, and operating practices.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, with additional focused study in cybersecurity.
Progressive experience supporting vulnerability management, threat analysis, or security operations within an enterprise IT environment.
Working knowledge of vulnerability assessment methodologies, CVSS scoring concepts, threat exploitation patterns, and risk analysis.

Assess system impacts and customer rate impacts for major undertakings. Provide financial forecasts and pro-forma's in support of financing of major projects. Review business cases and life cycle plans submitted by business units and make recommendations regarding their approval to supervisor/manager.
Provide support for development of business planning guidelines and reporting requirements, review of project portfolios and integration of the corporate business plan. Prepare and issue corporate guidelines and business planning instructions to business units. Review business unit project portfolios and provide advice to supervisor/manager on suitability of proposed plans. Coordinate and provide supporting material for senior management review of business unit plans. Assist in the development of decision analysis and resource allocation framework. Support development and maintain an up-to-date corporate view on generic generation options costs and characteristics and system economic values for use in modeling and evaluations. Monitor major generation projects in the planning and execution stages with focus on nuclear, combined cycle gas turbine and hydroelectric developments. Keep abreast of various procurement programs and announced projects by the Ontario Power Authority and Ontario government. Monitor and review government and industry publications and related studies on generation options, environmental technologies and policies.
Support the development of and prepare material in support of OPG's rate submissions to the Ontario Energy Board. At the direction of supervisor/manager, develop and review evidence, respond to interrogatories and support witnesses in the rate hearing process.
Coordinate and assemble data and conduct analysis in support of reporting to external agencies (e.g., IESO, NPCC, CNSC, OFA). Support working groups, committees and task forces with external agencies and industry groups on electricity planning, reliability studies, market structuring, financial evaluations and modeling, industry and environmental regulations and other related studies.

Conduct periodic walk downs of equipment.

Reporting to the Manager of Project Controls, this position will focus on the financial and schedule oversight of multiple projects. The ideal candidate will have a background in cost management, analysis, schedule management, change control, and ensuring project reporting is aligned to the protocols and procedures established with the Pickering Refurbishment PMO framework.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES 

Assist with coordinating, facilitating, and driving the Front-End Planning Process for projects.
Provide business units support in developing, maintaining, and updating project cost baselines and budgets in collaboration with project managers and finance teams. Perform cost management for projects in accordance with OPG’s project management governance. Facilitate and support project financial close out process.
Collaborate with project managers to address variances, adjusting project plans and budgets as needed to maintain financial control.
Set up applicable source systems (AS9, EcoSys, ePMX, P6 etc.) as required and ensure alignment with project control systems. Maintain alignment between source systems and project control systems throughout project life cycle.
Develop detailed schedules and/or provide schedule oversight activities to ensure full visibility on project timelines, establish baselines, and perform monitoring control.
Facilitate and support program reporting at all levels of the organization to internal stakeholders
Facilitate project metrics reporting and variance analysis. Identify actual and potential deviations from the approved annual, release or life cycle-budgets or schedules to the Project Manager. Prepare and obtain approval of applicable change control documentation.
Maintain document project file which provides an auditable trail throughout the project lifecycle including project approvals, change control and close out.

QUALIFICATIONS

4 Year University Degree, with preference given to engineering, business, or finance.
A period of over 2 years and up to and including 4 years is considered necessary in project planning, scheduling, cost control, reconciliation processes, business analysis and/or reporting.
Working towards certifications including Project Management Profession (PMP) certificate, and/or Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE) certificate is considered an asset.
Clear understanding of project controls principles, theories, and concepts such as project scoping, risk management, estimating, budgeting, and scheduling.
Some experience with cost management software and similar tools for budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Proficiency in EcoSys is an asset. Understanding of earned value including CPI (cost performance indicator)
Knowledge and training of P6 is an asset. Understanding of earned value including SPI (Scheduled Performance Indicator).
Some Project Management experience within a Nuclear, Hydroelectric or Thermal generating facility within a project management support capacity.

Operate plant systems, control panels, and equipment, including start‑ups, shutdowns, changeovers, testing, and isolation for maintenance activities.

This role is responsible for both planned and emergency maintenance to support the safe and reliable operation of our facilities.

Install, fabricate, commission, inspect, troubleshoot, service, test, and overhaul equipment and components.
Apply trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, painting, masonry, insulating, scaffolding, lubrication, and general maintenance.
Perform rigging and craning operations using fixed and mobile cranes; maintain and inspect this equipment.
Operate machines, shop tools, forklifts, and trucks as required.
Conduct lock-out/tag-out activities up to the level of training received.

Collaborate with project managers and EPC contractors to oversee procurement activities, including bidding processes, vendor selection, and contract compliance. Prepare oversight reports, address corrective actions, and assess vendor performance.
Manage inventory levels to optimize costs, ensure the right materials are available, and meet client needs throughout the inventory lifecycle.

QUALIFICATIONS

Requires a 4 year bachelor’s degree (or WES equivalent) in Business, Engineering, Applied Science, Supply Chain Management, Computer Science, or Law.
Requires a minimum 8 years’ experience in large construction or hydro procurement or supply chain management.
Demonstrated capability in category strategy, including total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis, market and supplier assessments, and the ability to lead cost‑reduction, supplier optimization, and value‑creation initiatives within large capital and construction environments.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Provide technical leadership to support commissioning, operations, and maintenance across major facility systems—troubleshooting issues, coordinating technical work, and proactively identifying risks and improvement opportunities.

JOB OVERVIEW

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Cloud Platform Operations Manager.

Reporting to the Senior Manager IT Services, this position is responsible to lead and manage all platform operations — including servers, data centers, cloud, backup and storage—by overseeing daily operations, change management, and escalations. Provide hands-on mentorship in key technologies (e.g., Windows Servers, Hyper V, VMware, Dell SAN, PowerMax, Linux Red Hat, Kubernetes), leveraging leadership and technical expertise to drive operational excellence and team development. Azure experience is a plus.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Manage and support groups responsible for managing servers and cloud platforms.
Ensure efficient operation and maintenance of servers, data centers, cloud environments, and backup storage.
Organize and actively participate in change management meetings to review and implement changes effectively.
Coordinate and resolve escalations related to platform operations to maintain service continuity.
Offer guidance and mentorship to team members in technologies such as Windows Servers, Hyper V, VMware, Dell SAN, PowerMax, Linux Red Hat, and Kubernetes.
Oversee cloud platform operations, leveraging Azure experience where applicable.
Apply leadership skills and experience to drive team performance, engagement, and professional development.
Utilize hands-on technical or architectural experience to address complex platform challenges and support team learning.
Support internal and external audits of governance, risk and controls.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. (RA)
7–10 years of overall IT infrastructure/platform experience with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership or management role
Strong expertise in technologies such as Hyper V, VMware, Dell SAN, Dell PowerMax, Linux Red Hat, and Kubernetes.
Demonstrated experience facilitating change management processes and resolving operational escalations.
Experience with cloud platform operations, with Azure knowledge considered an asset.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in complex IT environments.
Strong communication and mentorship abilities to guide and develop technical teams.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
Experience designing or architecting IT infrastructure solutions is a plus.
