This position is moving to OPG Corporate Headquarters: In Summer 2025, OPG will officially welcome employees to our new Corporate Headquarters located at 1908 Colonel Sam Drive, Oshawa, Ontario. This new space will enable teamwork, collaboration and innovation that will help us to achieve our mission to electrify life in one generation. This position will be temporarily based in enter Temporary Work Location City, ON until the move to Headquarters in the Summer of 2025.
JOB OVERVIEW
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic, and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Payroll Clerk.
The Payroll Clerk is responsible for processing end to end payroll transactions. Provide support services associated with the financial and accounting processes of the company. This is included, but is not limited to, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payments, payroll, invoices, material receipts, taxes, budgets, financial reports, fixed assets, investments, and system development. The ability to work under tight timelines and adapt to changing priorities is essential. This is an opportunity to be a part of the greater Human Resources team.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Prepare and process payroll and/or time-reporting data and associated forms in accordance with established policies, procedures, and collective agreements.
- Prepare and process payroll data and answer inquiries from employees, supervisors, and pensioners.
- Maintain and administer databases for ensuring proper documentation is readily available for annual audits.
- Provide advice and assistance on matters related to payroll.
- Participate in the design, development, and testing of new or revised payroll systems.
EDUCATION
- High School or equivalent, plus up to one year of study in a related field.
- College diploma or certificate in Human Resources or Business Administration or Payroll designation is a desirable asset.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 1-3 years of payroll experience.
- Experience working with SAP or ADP an asset.
- HR Experience in Payroll/labor relations is an asset.
- Accounting background experience is an asset.
- Experience working in a unionized environment would be considered an asset.
- Proficiency in Word and Excel.
- Change resilient in an agile work environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Ability to communicate effectively, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to quickly understand business processes and navigate organization and support systems to deliver results to client groups.
- Able to provide client focused service in a high-volume environment.

The base salary range considers many factors including, but not limited to experience, education, and training, including any collective agreement requirements for union represented positions. It is not typical for the salary to be offered near the top of the range, and salary is dependent on numerous factors. For management roles, the base salary range does not represent the total compensation package. The total compensation package for regular full-time management roles includes pay-for-performance programs for annual and medium time periods.
