WHAT YOU'LL BRING
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or engineering with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and/or Professional designation (CFA, CPA/CA).
- 10+ years of progressive experience in business planning, financial management/forecasting or accounting function, with experience in a senior executive-level position(s).
- 8 years of management experience effectively leading, influencing and motivating a team of finance and accounting resources. Experience advising business stakeholders and a team on business planning and financial management strategies.
- Proven experience driving financial performance and demonstrated success leading in a complex, dynamic and demanding environment.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and progressive and diverse experience in financial planning and analysis, accounting, and reporting is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven experience in taking an organization's financial planning & reporting function to 'best in class’ and developing precedent-setting processes and structures.
- Highly engaged leader; who works collaboratively, leverages the team's strengths and encourages development and new approaches to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the services provided.
- Strong communication skills and experience establishing credibility, confidence and earning trust.
- Track record of achieving success and delivering results within all facets of planning & reporting including in the use of innovative technology, while providing valuable input and advice to the finance and business leadership teams.
WHAT WE HAVE TO OFFER
ABOUT THE ROLE: As part of the finance leadership team, reporting to the VP Chief Controller and Accounting Officer, the VP, Business Planning & Reporting will play a key leadership role responsible for driving corporate processes in business planning coordination, revenue planning as well as both internal and external reporting. They will be an integral business partner for the corporate group and support OPG’s long-term growth through outlook and financial analysis.
The VP, Business Planning & Reporting is accountable for the business planning, financial management, accounting function and performance management processes and financial forecast that are critical to driving the financial sustainability of OPG. This includes strategic long-term financial planning and responsibility for the integrity of the company’s financial accounts, including proper allocation of costs within a complex capital structure.
In this role, you will be responsible for establishing and implementing the integrated revenue plan, ensuring cohesive coordination, alignment, and integration of services with other Finance and Corporate functions and driving financial and technology innovation to improve OPG’s effectiveness and decision-making. Also, champion standardized financial management reporting across the organization, leveraging technology with the aim to increase financial awareness and acumen among senior management.
