OPG is looking for a dedicated, results driven and dynamic professional to join our team in the role of Senior Manager, Enterprise Risk Management located in Toronto, Ontario.

Reporting to the Director, Enterprise Risk Management the Senior Manager, Enterprise Risk Management will be responsible for advancing OPG’s enterprise risk management framework. This role’s scope of responsibility includes managing a small team of  Risk Analysts; developing, planning and implementing qualitative and quantitative frameworks for risk identification, measurement, reporting and mitigation; and partnering with senior management and subject matter experts in other business units to ensure that risk management methodologies align with OPG operational and strategic objectives.

  • Develop and manage the processes for reporting on operational and enterprise-wide risks to the Executive Leadership Team and the Board of Directors.
  • Contribute to the development of formal risk management policies and procedures.     
  • Develop and manage risk self-assessment processes for operations and corporate business units.
  • Manage the development of risk quantification methodologies to measure and monitor significant risks to the company.
  • Collaborate with corporate and business unit management to develop effective risk management processes and deliverables.
  • Assist business unit management in planning and organizing risk management processes, capturing risk information and monitoring progress of risk mitigation.
  • Facilitate risk assessments where necessary and coach others in facilitation techniques, through workshops, interviews or surveys.



  • 4-year University degree
  • CPA or P.Eng designation is an asset



We are seeking an experienced risk management professional who has the following:

  • Experience in enterprise risk management;
  • Solid understanding of risk management practices and frameworks;
  • Knowledge of and ability to explain the various types of operational and strategic risks;
  • Demonstrated analytical and creative thinking skills to examine, build and execute strategies based on research and analysis;
  • Strong problem solving skills to address and overcome current and future challenges;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong facilitation, negotiation, influencing and presentation skills;
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills to execute time sensitive deliverables and effectively manage several projects simultaneously;
  • Knowledge and experience in building, shaping and maintaining productive relationships and partnerships across business units and among internal and external stakeholders;
  • Ability to quickly understand business processes, their risk implications and analyze complex situations to reach appropriate conclusions;
  • Operational support experience
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Experience working in the utilities industry or at a large professional consulting firm is preferred.
