Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is excited to offer one (1) student opportunity in our RG Learning & Development Centre in Etobicoke, ON This is a 4 or 8 months student placement commencing in May 2019.

All students applying for student positions at OPG must meet the below eligibility:

  • Enrolled in full-time studies at a post-secondary institution.
  • Have a minimum average of 70% cumulative GPA.
  • Returning to full-time studies in the same program following the completion of the work term OR requiring the work term or co-op placement to graduate.


  • Designing, developmenting and maintaining training course materials utilizing various software applications and tools.  Provide support services to business units and customer groups to enable the redesign and improvement of training materials.
  • Designing engaging instructional multimedia elements that integrate animation simulation, video, audio and text.
  •  Working collaboratively with instructional designers and subject-matter experts to ensure quality and timely products.


  • Minimum completion of 2nd year at a University or College specializing in Computer Science/Engineering or Graphic Design.


Preference may be given to the candidate who has the following skills and qualifications:

  • Strong design and development skills in the following:
    • Technical Writing,
    • Creating Presentations,
    • Video Production
  • Proficient in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and Sharepoint.
  • Possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong personal commitment to customer, department, and corporate objectives.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Demonstrable ability to work under pressure with multiple deadlines and conflicting priorities.

This job will provide you with the following professional development:

  • Development of training materials using industry standard methods and tools.
  • Hands-on exposure to software applications/multimedia tools and techniques.
  • Build and maintain relationships with business stakeholders.
  • Utilize and develop consultation skills.
