JOB OVERVIEW

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a results driven professionals to join our team in the role of Plumber based at our facility in Etobicoke, ON, on Kipling Avenue.

 

Reporting to the Manager, Facility Services, the Plumber will be responsible for performing duties to build, maintain and repair associated structures and equipment while working within OPG properties.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES 

  • Provide preventative maintenance repairs on plumbing installations including Sanitary and Storm Drainage systems.
  • Cleaning, inspecting, calibrating and changing parts to maintain systems and associated equipment at optimum performance levels.
  • Accountable for the health, safety and well-being of self and others, in accordance with procedures and standards
  • Perform custodial, housekeeping and waste handling activities as required.
  • Operate and maintain portable, hand and power-driven tools and equipment as required to complete assigned tasks.
  • Reading and understanding complex drawings and schematic layouts and manufacturer’s manuals

 

EDUCATION

  • Minimum Grade 12 High School completion
  • Completion of 8000 hour plumber apprenticehip
  • Red Seal 306A, Master Plumber, Certificate of Qualification

 

QUALIFICATIONS

We are seeking a Red Seal 306A Plumber who has the following:

 

  • Minimum 8 years of experience as a licensed plumber
  • Ability to lift, carry and  hold plumbing equipment and tools
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneels and work in other positions and use fine motor skills to manipulate plumbing parts
  • Demonstrated exceptional critical thinking skills;
  • Well developed communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work well in a highly technical environment;
  • Hold a valid driver’s license
