(OPG) is excited to offer one (1) student opportunity in our Northwest Operations Department in Thunder Bay, Ontario.  This is a four (4) month student placement commencing in May, 2019.

All students applying for student positions at OPG must meet the below eligibility:

  • Enrolled in full-time studies at a post-secondary institution.
  • Have a minimum average of 70% cumulative GPA.
  • Returning to full-time studies in the same program following the completion of the work term OR requiring the work term or co-op placement to graduate.


  • Review, check, and prepare drawings in accordance with local and corporate governance.
  • Resolve technical problems as required.
  • As directed, obtain reference data, from files, associates, or other work groups.
  • Perform calculations as necessary to support assigned work (this may include using the principles of algebra, geometry, etc.) . 
  • Contact other work groups, as directed, to clarify problems or obtain missing information.


  • Minimum completion of 2nd year at a University or College. Specializing in Engineering or Engineering Technology.


Preference may be given to the candidate who has the following skills and qualifications:

  • Experience with AutoCad
  • Experience with Microsoft Applications (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint)

This job will provide you with the following professional development:
