JOB OVERVIEW 
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Professional Experience Year (PEY) student supporting Water Management.    

 
In this engineering role, you will be supported by a dedicated manager who will oversee your work, provide hands-on guidance, and connect you with mentors committed to your professional growth.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES 

•    Provide engineering and technical support to OPG water management operations
•    Develop tools and models to enhance forecasting and automate processes
•    Document and analyze significant weather events, contributing to the reliability and safety of our operations.
•    Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve shared goals.
•    Help drive OPG’s mission to electrify life in one generation.
•    Other tasks as assigned. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

•    Pursuing a full-time undergraduate degree in Civil or Water Resource Engineering at an accredited institution on a full-time basis OR by the start of the opportunity in May 2026, will have completed 3rd year of a 4-year program or 4th year of a 5-year program.
•    Have a minimum average of 70% GPA (B-) 
•    Will be returning to full-time studies in the same program following the completion of the work term.
•    Currently enrolled and meets the minimum eligibility requirements for the Internship or Co-op Program as defined by your academic institution. 
•    Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.
•    Team players who can manage multiple tasks and adapt to new challenges.

The base salary range considers many factors including, but not limited to experience, education, and training, including any collective agreement requirements for union represented positions. It is not typical for the salary to be offered near the top of the range, and salary is dependent on numerous factors. For management roles, the base salary range does not represent the total compensation package. The total compensation package for regular full-time management roles includes pay-for-performance programs for annual and medium time periods.
