JOB OVERVIEW
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Program Coordinator/Advisor
Reporting to the Section Manager, South East Production/ Production Support, this position is responsible for coordinating work related to station units for the efficient and economic commissioning, operation and maintenance of hydroelectric generating stations. The Program Coordinator/Advisor will be integral in advising and influencing strategic decision making with asset management and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will assist in the planning, coordination, tracking, and reporting of projects and programs in support of the business needs.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Provide consultative advice and coordination services for asset/investment management with the identification and application of accepted and sound project/program management principles, standards and methods. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance and support audits and corrective actions.
- Plan, organize, and conduct reviews to monitor compliance with policies and procedures, escalating non-compliance to management.
- Assist in preparing business plans, budgets, and program documentation, ensuring proper project management tools and documentation are used.
- Monitor and track project and program performance, adjusting plans as needed to meet business goals and addressing deviations from the plan.
- Provide leadership and coordination of teams, ensuring effective use of resources, schedules, and budgets, while resolving planning and personnel issues.
- Prepare and assess project documents, summarize status, and report to management for effective project and program management and strategic planning decisions.
- Conduct inspections, assessments, and benchmarking studies, recommending improvements to business processes and program management practices.Participate in innovation, development, and implementation of improved program, procedures, techniques, and tools.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Completed 4 year degree in Engineering or related field.
- A period of over 6 years and up to and including 8 years is considered necessary to gain this experience.
- Knowledgeable in reliability standards (NPCC, NERC, IESO), work control processes, and engineering practices, with an understanding of risk management and analysis.Strong business acumen, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Experienced in project/program management, including resourcing, budgeting, sequencing tasks, and resolving common project issues.
- Proficient in benchmarking, best practice reviews, and performance measurement design, implementation, and tracking. Familiar with quality assurance methodologies and applying them throughout the project life cycle to ensure high standards.
- Skilled in developing, implementing, and auditing compliance with policies, standards, and procedures in organizational and project settings.

The base salary range considers many factors including, but not limited to experience, education, and training, including any collective agreement requirements for union represented positions. It is not typical for the salary to be offered near the top of the range, and salary is dependent on numerous factors. For management roles, the base salary range does not represent the total compensation package. The total compensation package for regular full-time management roles includes pay-for-performance programs for annual and medium time periods.
