Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is excited to offer two (2) student opportunites in our Work Management Department in Pickering Nuclear Generating Station. This is an 8 month(s) student placement commencing in September 2019.


All students applying for student positions at OPG must meet the below eligibility:

  • Enrolled in full-time studies at a post-secondary institution.
  • Have a minimum average of 70% cumulative GPA
  • Returning to full-time studies in the same program following the completion of the work term OR requiring the work term or co-op placement to graduate.



  • Development and implanenation of automation tools to use within Work Management division
  • Enhancement and clean up current Work Management website to make it more user friendly
  • Development of automantion in metrics and data manipulation and analysis
  • Create an enhanced tracking dashboard to show work week completion rates live throughout execution weeks
  • Facilitate and lead issues which may require engaging other cross functional departments
  • Maintain changes to flow charts, data process maps, document new processes and support ongoing audit requirments.



Minimum completion of  2nd year at a University or College specializing in Engineering, Computer Science and Project Management.



Preference may be given to the candidate who has the following skills and qualifications:

  • Self-driven with strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with senior management
  • Creative, Out-of-the-box thinker, with sting conceptual and problem solving skills
  • Must be detail-orieted, able to handle multiple tasks, and adapt quickly to changing needs of the business to meet deadlines
  • Excellent analysis skills and problem solving skills; proven technical leadership and process improvement tracking record
  • Technical aptitude and applies curiosity to clarify business, data and annalistically issues.


This job will provide you with the following professional development:

  • Experience improving/ implementing automation toolds
  • Maintaining Client Relationships
  • Maintaning Performance Management
  • Understanding Work Management functions at a large utility for Online and Outage Nuclear Reactors
  • Knowledge if Asses Suite 7 platforms
