JOB OVERVIEW 

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is excited to offer two (2) student opportunities in our People and Culture - Training, Planning and Design Department in Pickering, ON. This is a four (4) or eight (8) month student placement commencing in May, 2019.

 

All students applying for student positions at OPG must meet the below eligibility:

  • Enrolled in full-time studies at a post-secondary institution.
  • Have a minimum average of 70% cumulative GPA.
  • Returning to full-time studies in the same program following the completion of the work term OR requiring the work term or co-op placement to graduate.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES   

  • Publishing on-line (eLearning) courses using various industry standard software.
  • Providing front line phone support for OPG's eLearning environment.
  • Developing web-based training content using various tools including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

     

EDUCATION 

  • Minimum completion of 1st year at a University or College specializing in Arts, Business, Education, Journalism and/or Communications.

     

QUALIFICATIONS 

Preference may be given to the candidate who has the following skills and qualifications:

  • Strong technical experience with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
  • Familiar with Articulate products.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Problem solving & critical thinking.
  • Contact and work with 3rd party software manufacturers/vendors when required.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent English written and communication skills (French would be an asset).
  • Understand the user technical issues/requirements.
  • Adherence to deadlines.
  • Willing to provide solutions that are complete and meet the requirements.

 

This job will provide you with the following professional development:

  • Enhanced time management/organizational skills.
  • Enhanced communication (verbal and written) skills.
