JOB OVERVIEW 
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Senior Solution Configurator.

 

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Projects, this position involves leading the configuration and customization of enterprise applications, collaborating with stakeholders to define system requirements, overseeing system testing and integration, and driving performance enhancements through upgrades and improvements. It provides senior-level troubleshooting, conducts root cause analysis, and ensures compliance with IT standards. The role also supports projects with technical assessments, offers strategic advice, mentors junior team members, and stays updated on industry trends to guide product strategy and roadmap.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES 

  • Define Clear System Requirements: Collaborate effectively with business stakeholders to establish clear and actionable system requirements and solutions that align with organizational objectives.
  • Ensure Robust System Testing and Integration: Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies and validation processes to ensure seamless system integration and optimal performance.
  • Resolve Critical System Issues: Provide expert-level troubleshooting and conduct root cause analysis to swiftly resolve critical system issues, minimizing downtime and operational disruptions.
  • Enhance System Performance: Lead system upgrades, patches, and improvements, resulting in enhanced application performance and user satisfaction.
  • Support Strategic Decision-Making: Conduct technical assessments and risk evaluations to provide valuable insights and technical advice to project and product managers, aiding informed decision-making.
  • Develop Talent and Expertise: Mentor junior team members, fostering their development and enhancing the team's overall technical expertise.
  • Drive Innovation and Strategic Alignment: Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends, providing strategic advice on product strategy and roadmap to maintain competitive advantage.
  • Ensure Compliance and Risk Management: Provide audit support and ensure adherence to OPG IT standards, accounting policies, and internal controls, mitigating risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires a 4-year University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Requires a minimum of 8-10 years of demonstrated relevant hands-on experience.
  • Requires knowledge in configuration and customizing enterprise applications. Overseeing system testing and validation of configurations. Conducting technical assessments and risk evaluations. Providing expert-level troubleshooting and technical support. Ensuring compliance with IT standards, accounting policy, and internal controls.
  • Requires relevant experience in configuring enterprise applications. Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills. Deep expertise in enterprise application configuration and best practices.
  • Requires experience with configuration and implementation of SAP HR payroll schemas, rules, and integration with time management
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with other SAP modules, troubleshooting and resolving functional issues, ensuring system stability and compliance
  • Requires hands-on experience with integration, data structures, and automation tools. Proven ability to drive system improvements and optimizations. Relevant and appropriate certifications in support of the products or services supported.

The base salary range considers many factors including, but not limited to experience, education, and training, including any collective agreement requirements for union represented positions. It is not typical for the salary to be offered near the top of the range, and salary is dependent on numerous factors. For management roles, the base salary range does not represent the total compensation package. The total compensation package for regular full-time management roles includes pay-for-performance programs for annual and medium time periods.
