JOB OVERVIEW
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Senior Manager,Outage located in Pickering, Ontario.
Reporting to the Director , this position is accountable for coordinating outage response, resource allocation, communication with key stakeholders, and establishing outage management practices consistent with OPG standards and business objectives.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Prioritize outage work to be performed.
- Ensure execution of overall logic of outage or Nuclear Refurbishment work.
- Provide oversight and direction of Outage Control Centre
- Integrate project work with outage work.
- Measure and report performance in scheduling and executing planned outage work.
- Identify risks to the outage, and facilitate mitigation, or escalate to the appropriate levels of the organization for resolution.
- Communicate with operational departments, vendors, and customers regarding outage status and resolution.
- Collaborate with key project stakeholders and drive accountability.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Applied Science OR Technical College Degree with relevant experience
- Project Management Institute (PMI) certification is considered an asset and
- Trade certificate for Civil or Electrical or I&C or Mechanical trades considered an asset
- Experience within a heavily regulated/procedural Industrial/Utility organization (Nuclear experience is preferred).
- Prior experience in managing conflicting priorities of scope, schedule, cost and quality.
- Proven ability as a team player to understand and manage the interrelationships of various internal and external groups in order to facilitate objectives and ensure projects satisfy stakeholder requirements.
- Previous Supervisory experience with managing skilled trades within an unionized environment will be an asset
- Exhibits strong leadership qualities and possesses well-developed analytical and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Demonstrated ability to provide direction, including providing advice and influencing personnel to others to achieve results.

The base salary range considers many factors including, but not limited to experience, education, and training, including any collective agreement requirements for union represented positions. It is not typical for the salary to be offered near the top of the range, and salary is dependent on numerous factors. For management roles, the base salary range does not represent the total compensation package. The total compensation package for regular full-time management roles includes pay-for-performance programs for annual and medium time periods.
