JOB OVERVIEW
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our Inspection Technology & Development – Fuel Channel NDE Projects in the Advanced Inspection & Maintenance (AIM) division in the role of Senior Engineer/Scientist/Technical Officer located in Pickering, Ontario.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Provide technical evaluations and advice, solve problems and coordinate work as required, in multi-disciplinary teams of engineering and technical specialists, to support the operation of the power generation facilities.
- Lead projects, develop work plans, supporting, and tracking the execution of projects in compliance with the industry's demanding set of regulations and standards and satisfaction of the client and supervisor.
- Perform as a technical expert in a designated segment of the assigned technical discipline(s).
- Provide technical advice to support OPG operation and contribute as required to committees and task forces to conduct studies and work programs for OPG and/or other utilities or industries.
- Keep abreast of latest developments in the assigned technical discipline, through reference to relevant technical publications and regular interface with research, industrial, and educational bodies.
- Maintaining written documented processes and procedures to reflect improved operating methods and additions to all supported systems.
- Collaborate with field teams for planning and execution of testing.
- Lead projects/studies within the discipline(s), involving nonstandard requirements and the work direction of technician and technical/engineering staff and/or carry out full responsibility for assigned ongoing technical work programs.
- Develop work plans, determine resource requirements and balance workload with available resources (if applicable}, coordinate work efforts with other involved groups, adapt project/study activities to address changing priorities, anticipate and resolve problems which pose an impediment to successful completion, and accomplish planned work results to the satisfaction of the client and Supervisor and within established budgetary and scheduling constraints.
- Produce reports or other documents and/or presentations as required to portray results of studies and field tests carried out, to present evidence to support conclusions drawn or recommendations advanced, and/or to provide a resource for reference and use by others involved in the discipline.

EDUCATION
- 4 Year Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Applied Science (Mechanical, Electrical, Metallurgy, Civil)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 2 years relevant work experience within the designated discipline to become familiar with station and departmental procedures, processes, techniques, problems and problem resolutions, and associated study and project requirements and stages.
- Experience to become familiar with the internal and external contacts associated with departmental work activities, and with established documentation/presentation requirements.
- Requires experience to become qualified and recognized as a technical expert in a specific segment of the discipline and as a generalist in other segments to provide technical advice, guidance, consultation and services to clients in thermal and nuclear generating facilities and related support functions.
- Experience in dealing with the most complex technical problems and assignments, up to and including those of the highest order of complexity, and in resolving conflicts and controversy arising in the course of work activities.
- Experience in assuming full responsibility for project or program management, including work and resource planning, problem resolution, work monitoring, and accomplishment to customer satisfaction.
- Experience and ability as a team player to understand and manage the interrelationships of various internal and external groups to facilitate objectives and ensure deliverables satisfy stakeholder requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable leading meetings and giving presentations.
- Strong in understanding, executing and following governance and procedures with a questioning and analytical attitude/approach under minimum required supervision.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a flexible hybrid office environment.
- Knowledge of OPG's ECC Process (Engineering Change Control) is an asset.
- Experience in field working through planning and execution of testing is an asset.
- P. Eng is considered an asset

The base salary range considers many factors including, but not limited to experience, education, and training, including any collective agreement requirements for union represented positions. It is not typical for the salary to be offered near the top of the range, and salary is dependent on numerous factors. For management roles, the base salary range does not represent the total compensation package. The total compensation package for regular full-time management roles includes pay-for-performance programs for annual and medium time periods.
