SENIOR MANAGER, BUSINESS CHANGE (Pickering/Toronto, Hybrid)

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, communications, HR or a related field.
  • Eight years of progressive change management experience, effectively implementing and managing business change initiatives for a complex or highly technical organization. 
  • Prosci Change Management Certification or similar change management training combined with change management experience. Strong knowledge of current change management frameworks, including methodologies, principles, practices, processes, tools and templates.
  • Previous experience providing change management support to projects impacting people and human behaviours. 
  • Strong consultation and advisory skills; demonstrated experience in building and executing strategies and providing overall change management consultation and direction to the business and leadership. 
  • Experience integrating and collaborating with various stakeholders, experience effectively leading, influencing and motivating a team of non-direct reporting resources. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, knowledge and experience in building, shaping and maintaining productive relationships and strong partnerships.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong facilitation, negotiation, and influencing skills. 
  • A creative mind, resourceful; skills and experience building interactive and engaging presentations, communications tactics, and tools supporting change management implementation. 
  • Possess a positive attitude with a proactive approach—strong business acumen with a commitment to finding ways to deliver added value to the business. 
  • Three years of management experience effectively leading, influencing and motivating a team of change management specialists—the ability to mentor and oversee the work of others; experience mentoring, developing and training others. 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Project Management Institute (PMI) training, Project Management Professional (PMP) certification/designation. 
  • Project management, organizational and decision-making skills. Proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced, changing environment while effectively managing and adapting to multiple changing priorities.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to reach well-grounded, independent conclusions and influence outcomes directly and through a team of resources. 
  • A quick learner, able to quickly understand business processes, break down complex and technical ideas, understand risk implications and analyze situations to reach solutions. Must be able to navigate a complex organizational structure.  
  • Proficient technical skills in MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, Access, OneNote, Notes, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams and Outlook). 
  • Previous experience working with a similar size and structured organization to OPG. 
  • Experience working in/for/on behalf of industries such as utilities, energy, power, mining, manufacturing, aerospace, tech, financial services or the public sector. 
  • Previous union environment experience or exposure.

ABOUT THE ROLE: There is a lot of exciting change happening at OPG, and this is your chance to make a difference. As part of our Human Resources team, reporting to the Director, Talent, Change and Employee Communications, you will advise how to plan, implement and manage change for large and complex projects and initiatives across the business. This includes providing strategic change management expertise and advice that incorporates OPG's business objectives; manage changes such as business, process, technology, structure, and culture that affect people and human behaviours. 

 

Use your knowledge and expertise in change and project management, along with your relationship-building skills, to ensure people readiness planning in project and initiative plans. Partner with the senior project and business unit leadership teams to identify priority areas for change and ensure the right scabble resources and plans are put in place based on the scale of change to provide strong, integrated change management support. This includes supporting clients through change implementation, sustainment, and effectiveness assessment.

 

Bring various stakeholders together to educate and advise to advance their understanding of change management and change leadership practices and solutions.
