Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is excited to offer one (1) student opportunity n our Reactor Maintenance Department in Pickering, ON. This is an eight (8) months student plcement commencing in September, 2019.

All students applying for student positions at OPG must meet the below eligibility:

  • Enrolled in full-time studies at a post-secondary institution.
  • Have a minimum average of 70% cumulative GPA.
  • Returning to full-time studies in the same program following the completion of the work term OR requiring the work term or co-op placement to graduate.


  • Provide technical evaluations and advice, solve problems and coordinate technical work as required in support of the commissioning, operation and maintenance of Reactor Maintenance Tooling.
  • Maintain, develop and/or update operating and other specified department procedures.
  • Assist in preparation or help prepare specifications, for purchasing requisitions for material.
  • Responsible to meet schedule deliverable timelines.
  • Recommend research and development programs required to improve equipment through innovation.
  • May be required to gather and collate data for use in department budget and schedule preparations.


Minimum completion of 3rd year at a University specializing in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.



Preference may be given to the candidate who has the following skills and qualifications:

  • Tooling Design.
  • Experience with solidworks or CAD.

This job will provide you with the following professional development:

  • Systematic Approach to Troubleshooting.
