JOB OVERVIEW
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Master Plumber.
Reporting to the Supervisor Facility Services, this position is responsible to perform licensed Master Plumber trade duties to build, maintain and repair associated structures and equipment while working within generating facilities and properties.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Review, approve, stamp documents required for testing and maintenance of backflow preventers. You are required to be registered with the applicable municipality region cross connection program as a representative of the organization.
- Ensure appropriate storage of such documents.
- Conduct periodic walk downs of equipment.
- Carry out good housekeeping and fire prevention practices in the performance of your work.
- May be required to perform tasks, related to Civil Maintenance functions to carry out work assignments.
- Maintain, operate and use power tools, equipment and hand tools.
- Be knowledgeable of radiation protection and the use of contamination control equipment to protect self and prevent the spread of contamination in the work environment. Carries out decontamination checks and procedures and cleaning techniques to ensure cleanliness standards of clothing, equipment and work areas, including the set up of rubber areas.
- Work in confined spaces.
- Responsible for lock and tag of equipment to the level trained.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school and Plumber 306A license and OWWA Cross Connection Certification.
- At least 3 years of working experience as a Master plumber.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Well-organized.

The base salary range considers many factors including, but not limited to experience, education, and training, including any collective agreement requirements for union represented positions. It is not typical for the salary to be offered near the top of the range, and salary is dependent on numerous factors. For management roles, the base salary range does not represent the total compensation package. The total compensation package for regular full-time management roles includes pay-for-performance programs for annual and medium time periods.
