JOB OVERVIEW 
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the roles of Manager Projects- Mechanical & Manager Projects- Electrical.

 

Reporting to the Senior Manager Construction Engineering and DWI, this role will provide field support execution for modification updates for the Pickering generation station. Specifically, this role will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, providing oversight to refurbishment construction activities from a design perspective. 

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES  

  • Lead and coach technical staff and trades to deliver high-quality, efficient results.
  • Drive planning and scheduling; assign tasks and set clear priorities for the team.
  • Evaluate performance, recommend training, and implement promotions or corrective actions.
  • Enforce collective agreements and allocate work to the right trade groups.
  • Resolve operational and project issues quickly to maintain progress.
  • Define and control project scope, objectives, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Align stakeholders across engineering, finance, safety, and quality to achieve project goals.
  • Secure approvals and implement technical solutions to ensure facility readiness.

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • 4-year university degree in engineering, with preference given to electrical or mechanical.
  • 5+ years’ experience in project management.
  • Previous experience leading a large team (10+ professionals) of unionized and non-union professionals, preferred.
  • Experience in the operation of nuclear generating plants, including specialized equipment, processes, tooling, techniques, and methods used, and the application of the specialty to nuclear generating stations and associated facilities is an asset.
  • Experience overseeing and collaborating with external partners, including construction partners & design service partners.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations (i.e. CSA N286 standard & CSA N299 series).
  • Strong planning, prioritization, and delivery skills.
  • Ability to resolve operational and project challenges quickly.
  • Solid understanding of scope, scheduling, and resource management.
  • Collaborative approach across engineering, finance, safety, and quality.
