JOB OVERVIEW
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Manager, Maintenance.
Reporting to the Director, Plant Maintenance, this position is a hybrid of managing work execution and overseeing project planning. It is a key role managing multiple priorities, balancing current maintenance schedules and supporting future maintenance planning as part of Pickering Nuclear Generating Station Refurbishment.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Manage the execution of preventive and corrective maintenance activities performed by skilled maintenance workers as required based on prescribed schedules
- Manage urgent corrective maintenance as requested
Provide direction to complete work safely, in compliance with the Ontario Health and Safety Act (OSHA) and the OPG Safety Management System - Understand and manage the Human Performance program for the maintenance Department. This includes Observation and Coaching in the field and providing feedback to direct reports
- Manage the metrics for the maintenance department. Including but not limited to; headcount, financial data, work completion, schedule adherence, contract spending. Communicate metrics to leadership and relevant stakeholders.
- Ability to manage projects to increase efficiency in the workplace, this includes change management with employees, and project management of equipment
- Track corrective and improvement actions and provide progress reports to leadership
- Ensure effective short- and long-term workforce modelling is in place to accurately predict the requirements on critical skill Nuclear Staff, providing forecast of permanent and temporary staff requirements with consideration given to demographics, attrition, plant closures, plant refurbishments, new builds, market conditions and available staff supply.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 4-year degree in engineering, specializing in mechanical or electrical engineering is preferred; or an active Certificate of Qualification in a relevant field. Project Management Professional (PMP) certifications is an asset
- Three (3) plus years of experience in a management/supervisory role, managing a multi-union represented work force
- Experience in Nuclear, Construction or Manufacturing is an asset
- Excellent problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

The base salary range considers many factors including, but not limited to experience, education, and training, including any collective agreement requirements for union represented positions. It is not typical for the salary to be offered near the top of the range, and salary is dependent on numerous factors. For management roles, the base salary range does not represent the total compensation package. The total compensation package for regular full-time management roles includes pay-for-performance programs for annual and medium time periods.
