JOB OVERVIEW
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Engineering and Applied Science Graduate Trainee.
The Engineering New Graduate program is a planned and structured entry-level training program with classroom, computer based training and on-the-job training elements. Upon successful completion of the Engineering New Graduate program (18-24 months in duration), you will be progressed to the Assistant Technical Engineer/ Officer role.
Throughout the program, recent graduates work closely with and will be supported by a network of dedicated OPG employees that include emerging leaders within the organization as well as seasoned staff who are ready to coach and mentor.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Working with a multi-disciplined team of engineering and technical specialists to support the operation of the various mechanical and electrical systems.
- Developing and executing projects in compliance with customer expectations and the industry's demanding set of regulations and standards.
- Maintaining written documented processes and procedures to reflect improved operating methods and additions to all supported systems.
- Co-ordinate the clarification of specification requirements and arrange for necessary changes and/or co-ordinate technical work as required in several major works areas.
- Maintain and/or update operating and other specified department/divisional procedures.
- Solving problems, providing advice and guidance, initiating developmental studies and making recommendations during the design, commissioning and operation of a nuclear facility; to evaluate components or materials, and to perform economic studies and evaluations associated with the design, commissioning and operation within Enterprise engineering.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 4-year university degree, Masters, or PhD in Engineering.
- Graduated anytime between 2024 up to and including Spring 2026; must have less than 2-years of relevant work experience.

- Have a minimum average of 70% GPA (B-)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to develop and deliver reports, briefings, project plans.
- Good organizational and leadership skills, and to be a self-starter who can work both independently and in a team environment that is dedicated to engineering excellence and best practices.
- Have a strong interest in fast-paced, challenging work environments where showing initiative and self-motivation are assets.
- Strong in understanding, executing and following governance and procedures with a questioning and analytical attitude/approach under minimum required supervision.
- Experience managing projects (asset).
- Proven track record on delivering results.
- Experience and familiarity with OPGN ECC processes and standards (asset).
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a flexible hybrid office environment.

The base salary range considers many factors including, but not limited to experience, education, and training, including any collective agreement requirements for union represented positions. It is not typical for the salary to be offered near the top of the range, and salary is dependent on numerous factors. For management roles, the base salary range does not represent the total compensation package. The total compensation package for regular full-time management roles includes pay-for-performance programs for annual and medium time periods.
