JOB OVERVIEW 
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Emergency Managemetn Officer. 

 

Reporting to the Manager, Site EP Implementation & Maintenance, this position is responsible supporting emergency management planning through the development and maintenance of emergency response documentation.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES  

• Provide support to enhance and resolve issues related to emergency management (communication to emergency response personnel, critical equipment oversight, emergency response technology, etc)
• Collaborate with team members in a fast paced environment to integrate emergency management technology/governance into emergency preparedness and response activities
• Participate in emergency drills
• Participate in benchmarking studies, compliance evaluations and audits
• Support the technical training associated with emergency response

 

QUALIFICATIONS 
• 4 Year University Bachelors Degree

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
• Proven ability to develop and maintain comprehensive emergency response documentation.
• Demonstrated capability to enhance and resolve issues related to emergency management, including communication with emergency response personnel, oversight of critical equipment, and management of emergency response technology.
• Ability to work collaboratively with team members in a fast-paced environment to integrate emergency management technology and governance into emergency preparedness and response activities.
• Experience in participating in emergency drills to ensure readiness and effective response.
• Experience in conducting benchmarking studies, compliance evaluations, and audits to ensure adherence to emergency management standards and best practices.
• Technical Training Support: Ability to support and deliver technical training associated with emergency response to ensure team proficiency and preparedness.

The base salary range considers many factors including, but not limited to experience, education, and training, including any collective agreement requirements for union represented positions. It is not typical for the salary to be offered near the top of the range, and salary is dependent on numerous factors. For management roles, the base salary range does not represent the total compensation package. The total compensation package for regular full-time management roles includes pay-for-performance programs for annual and medium time periods.
