JOB OVERVIEW

Reporting to the VP, Supply Chain Strategy & Projects, the Director plays a critical role in developing and executing supply chain and sourcing strategies by leading people, driving business change and transformation, modernizing and digitizing category management and procurement processes while building, maintaining and leveraging strategic supplier and vendor relationships. This role is also responsible for obtaining new, diverse and innovative suppliers that enhance OPG's existing supplier programs.

First Year Deliverables

  • Develop a deep and broad understanding of OPG’s business; successfully integrate into the team and build credibility as a key advisor to the team.

  • Migrate the sourcing and category management group from reactive to proactive. This will be achieved by understanding market trends and risks across all commodities and categories.

  • Enhance communication or risk and strategies to business stakeholders.

  • Implement best practices of procurement/sourcing across raw materials, finished goods and services.

The successful candidate will be a leader with proven senior-level experience in developing “best in class” procurement and sourcing practices within a large, complex organization. With a client service focus, they will have a proven track record of increasing efficiency and reducing costs through expandable and scalable solutions and a focus on value.
