JOB OVERVIEW

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Supplier Relationship Lead.

 

Reporting to the Manager Strategy & Resource Planning, the SRM (Supplier Relationship Management) Practice Lead is accountable for the following:

SRM Governance and Strategic Oversight: Developing an approach for governing all OPG supplier relationships based on an assessment of supplier risk, spend and criticality. Developing and facilitating a Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) process, governance model and performance management framework for overseeing and measuring the performance of OPG suppliers.

SRM Program Management: Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders and 3rd party suppliers to ensure suppliers are positioned to execute against OPG’s strategic goals and objectives. Ongoing maintenance and development of the OPG SRM program to ensure program relationship goals and objectives are achieved
.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • SRM Governance and Strategic Oversight: Develops and maintains a formal supplier relationship management program framework, including governance modelling, supplier segmentation and scorecard development.
  • Develops and implements processes, tools, and templates to support continuous supplier performance measurement and tracking. Develops and implements supplier governance models and oversees onboarding suppliers into the SRM program.
  • Develops and implements SRM program improvement strategies, including changes to existing processes, tools, and templates.
  • Engages senior leadership to support strategic business review meetings with supplier executives, including ad-hoc review meetings because of contract compliance and/or performance issues and disputes.
  • Updates supplier scorecards using Supplier Credit Risk information obtained from Finance unit and Supplier Quality information obtained from the Supplier Quality unit.
  • Prepares and presents updates on key strategic suppliers, including levering the Director as a point of escalation for contract compliance and/or performance issues and disputes
  • Sends and follow ups on surveys to obtain data from internal stakeholders and suppliers to conduct annual SRM Program.
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders to validate lessons learned, in addition to issues and opportunities that exist within the SRM program.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires 4 years of University degree in Supply Chain, Sciences, Business Administration, Engineering or related field.
  • Requires over 6 years and up to and including 4 – 6 years of experience in a procurement or supplier management or risk management functions is considered necessary.
  • Requires knowledge of supplier management principles and methodologies and procurement tools, such as SAP Ariba.
  • Requires experience with the following: development and implementation of supplier relationship management frameworks, tools & templates; conducting annual SRM Programs and developing surveys to obtain data from intern/ext. stakeholders; Developing SRM program improvement strategies, including changes to existing processes, tools, templates; Able to segment supplier base through a review of supplier spend, risk and business criticality. 
  • Demonstrates advanced analytical skills with a strong grasp of KPI metrics and scorecard development to evaluate supplier performance.
  • Builds and maintains effective supplier relationships, balancing data-driven insights with a human-centered approach to collaboration.
  • Manages 30–40 supplier meetings annually and proficient in Excel (advanced/expert), Qualtrics, Ariba, and other SRM tools.
  • Advanced skills in critical thinking, decision-making, leadership, communication (verbal and written) and analytical skills.

The base salary range considers many factors including, but not limited to experience, education, and training, including any collective agreement requirements for union represented positions. It is not typical for the salary to be offered near the top of the range, and salary is dependent on numerous factors. For management roles, the base salary range does not represent the total compensation package. The total compensation package for regular full-time management roles includes pay-for-performance programs for annual and medium time periods.
