JOB OVERVIEW 
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Senior Solution Configurator – Finance Applications. 

 

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Finance Applications, this position is responsible for supporting Quantum and MV90 production activities.  Duties include system administration, monitoring and troubleshooting and resolving issues with production systems, modifying and creating custom reports in Crystal Reports for Quantum, refining processes, enhancing performance, and maintaining interfaces. 

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES  

  • Responsible for designing, developing, and modifying Finance and Finance related applications to meet evolving business requirements, ensuring data integrity and optimal structure for reporting and analytics. 
  • Accountable for daily monitoring of production processes and reports, promptly identifying, investigating, and resolving job failures or performance issues to minimize business disruption.
  • Good communication skills are required to work with offsite teams to troubleshoot issues with MV90 including physical communication issues due to network equipment.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise application configurations, ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry best practices. This role requires deep technical expertise and leadership in enterprise system configuration and integration.
  • Oversee system testing, integration, develop test strategy, and validation of configurations.
  • Provide expert-level troubleshooting and support for enterprise applications. Perform root cause analysis for critical system issues and document changes and resolution plan for implementation.
  • Provide project support and conduct technical assessments and risk evaluation. Provide technical advice to project manager and product manager for decision making.
  • Drive system upgrades, patches, and improvements to enhance performance. Document test strategy, timeline and work plan. Communicate with stakeholders.
  • Provide audit support and ensure compliance with OPG IT standards, accounting policy and internal controls.
  • Monitor/configure integrations into other systems including SAP ECC/S4HANA and potentially our Azure Datalake.

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • A 4 Year University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is required to gain this knowledge
  • Over 6 years’ experience in enterprise application configuration and improving system performance. Troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing, developing, and modifying and sustainment in Quantum, as well as managing and optimizing finance processes.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring, diagnosing, and resolving issues in Quantum and/or MV90  to ensure high system availability.
  • Ability to prepare test scripts, support user acceptance testing, and provide effective assistance and training to end-users.
  • Involvement in SAP S/4 HANA and/or SAP Datasphere implementation or migration projects, including requirements gathering, testing, and go-live support.

The base salary range considers many factors including, but not limited to experience, education, and training, including any collective agreement requirements for union represented positions. It is not typical for the salary to be offered near the top of the range, and salary is dependent on numerous factors. For management roles, the base salary range does not represent the total compensation package. The total compensation package for regular full-time management roles includes pay-for-performance programs for annual and medium time periods.
