JOB OVERVIEW

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Senior Manager, IT End User & Field Support.   

 

Reporting to the Director IT Services, this position is responsible to lead and manage multiple teams to ensure reliable operation, support, and continuous improvement of IT systems and services across all company sites, including overseeing asset management, service quality, security compliance, and collaboration with internal and external partners.

 

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES 

  • Direct and support teams responsible for deploying and maintaining IT systems across all company sites and facilities.
  • Oversee daily operations to maintain stable and secure IT services, including computers, phones, security systems, and network infrastructure.
  • Develops the strategies and leads implementation for the efficient provision of production operations with respect to endpoints and field IT equipment.
  • Create and execute strategies for efficient provision, refresh, and improvement of field IT equipment and services.
  • Develops and manages annual and long-term budgets and staffing plans
  • Establishes performance measures and processes to monitor the performance of services and staff against SLAs, reviews and approves corrective actions to improve services and customer satisfaction
  • Ensure all IT services and systems adhere to security standards, policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Develops and maintains a formal asset management program for filed IT equipment and services to assure contract terms and compliance. Manages development and maintenance of standardized policies, development and deployment of lifecycle / refresh strategies to maintain currency and reliability of devices.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4-Year University degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Business Administration, or Management.
  • Over 10 years experience working in end support or field services with over 5 years’ experience in a leadership position.
  • Experience managing multiple teams responsible for daily IT operations, support, and commissioning of new systems in a complex business environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategies for efficient production operations, including planning, resource management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Skilled in developing and maintaining asset management programs, overseeing device lifecycle (procurement, deployment, refresh, recovery, recycling), and ensuring compliance with contract terms.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies (Windows OS, Azure, SCCM, Active Directory), desktop virtualization, mobile device management, and experience supporting a wide range of end user computing platforms.
  • Exposure and solid comprehension to core ITSM, ITAM, EUC, ServiceNow Tooling and ReportingExperience working cross-functionally with technical staff, procurement, and external vendors to acquire infrastructure, negotiate contracts, and support business continuity.
