JOB OVERVIEW
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Senior Manager, Strategic Initiatives.
Reporting to the Director RG Programs & Strategy, this position is responsible for fleet programs and initiatives supporting the Operations & Maintenance organization within OPG’s Renewable Generation division.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Support the continuous improvement and execution of RG’s Work Management, Conduct of Operations, and Conduct of Maintenance programs.
- Develop and monitor KPIs in the above 3 programs as well as work protection, corrective actions, amongst others.
- Foster strong working relationships with internal stakeholders (e.g., Eastern Operations, Western Operations, Niagara Operations, Environment, Health & Safety, Regulatory Affairs, and Engineering) and external partners (e.g., industry associations, vendors) to advance RG performance and excellence initiatives.
- Project manage or support high-impact initiatives across departments, including negotiations with external stakeholders or advisors.
- Develop monthly briefing materials and analysis for senior management, providing recommendations on opportunities and risks.
- Strengthen strategic alignment and cooperation across Corporate Strategy, Finance, Business Development teams and Regulatory Affairs to ensure cohesive planning and execution across the RG portfolio.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field; or College Diploma in Technology or a related field.
- Minimum 6–8 years of progressive experience in operations, maintenance, or business development.
- Demonstrated knowledge of hydroelectric or similar industry
- Advanced proficiency in tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and business intelligence platforms (e.g., Power BI).
- Ability to synthesize large volumes of information and translate into actionable strategy.
- Strong interpersonal skills and political acumen when working with internal and external stakeholders.
