JOB OVERVIEW
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Senior Cutover Manager.
Reporting to the Manager, IT Product Delivery, this position is responsible to lead end-to-end cutover planning and execution for a SAP S/4HANA greenfield implementation with a strong focus on Finance (General Ledger, Period Close, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Real Estate).
This role will own the integrated cutover strategy across SAP workstreams, data migration, and a portfolio of legacy system interfaces being introduced as part of the program. The Cutover Manager will also plan and coordinate post go-live/hypercare activities to ensure a stable transition to operations.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Plan and coordinate Finance cutover activities including: GL balances and open item handling, Period-end / year-end close considerations and blackout windows, AR/AP open items, aging, payments, billing, collections, dunning (as applicable), Bank interfaces, payment runs, lockbox (if in scope), Real Estate (RE) master data and transactional cutover considerations
- Coordinate with the data migration lead and functional teams to plan: Mock conversions / dress rehearsals, Final load sequencing and validation checkpoints, Reconciliation plans (e.g., trial balance tie-outs, subledger-to-GL reconciliation, open item reconciliation)
- Lead cutover planning for legacy system interfaces (inbound/outbound) being introduced or modified, including: Interface readiness, deployment, and connectivity validation, Message/file cutover approach (dual-run, parallel run, switch-over, decommission timing), Monitoring, error handling, support procedures, and ownership
- Plan and execute cutover rehearsals to validate task duration, sequencing, resources, and defect resolution.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Requires 4-year university degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration (with a project management focus), ERP implementations, or cutover management.
- Proven experience leading end-to-end cutover activities for large-scale ERP implementations (preferably SAP S/4HANA).
- Strong functional knowledge of SAP Finance processes (GL, AR, AP, period close, reconciliation) and their impact during cutover
- Demonstrated experience coordinating data migration activities, including mock conversions, final data loads, and reconciliation strategies.
- Experience managing cutover for system integrations and interfaces (inbound/outbound), including deployment, validation, and transition strategies.
- Strong understanding of reconciliation processes (e.g., trial balance tie-outs, subledger-to-GL, open items) and financial data validation.
- Proven ability to plan and execute cutover rehearsals (dress rehearsals), including sequencing, timing, issue resolution, and resource coordination.
- Excellent stakeholder management, leadership, and communication skills to coordinate across business, IT, data migration, and operations teams.
