JOB OVERVIEW
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Senior Business Analyst.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Cyber Products, this position is responsible for identifying and documenting business requirements, developing workflow models, and supporting the delivery of cybersecurity and technology initiatives across Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) environments. The role bridges the gap between business stakeholders, cybersecurity teams, and delivery partners by translating operational needs into actionable requirements and supporting product lifecycle management, portfolio planning, and demand management activities. The successful candidate will contribute to business transformation, strategic planning, and the continuous improvement of cybersecurity capabilities.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and business rules in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain business process documentation, including workflow models using BPMN, UML, or similar methodologies.
- Translate business needs into functional specifications and support solution validation throughout development and deployment.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and meetings to define requirements, validate processes, and confirm stakeholder alignment.
- Support cybersecurity initiatives and projects across IT and OT environments by assessing business impacts, documenting requirements, and coordinating stakeholder engagement.
- Support product lifecycle management activities, including technology upgrades, modernization initiatives, roadmaps, and capability planning.
- Assist with portfolio planning, demand management, business case development, budget planning, and prioritization activities.
- Develop test plans and coordinate user acceptance testing for new systems, enhancements, and business solutions.
- Support change adoption by preparing user documentation, training materials, and post-implementation support plans.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend solutions to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and business outcomes.
- Collaborate with IT, operations, PMO, and other teams to assess impacts, manage risks, support reporting, and ensure solutions align with organizational priorities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Four-year university education in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) discipline.
- At least 6 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience conducting business analysis, including requirements gathering, process improvement, and stakeholder management in cross-functional project environments.
- Experience supporting technology, cybersecurity, infrastructure, or digital transformation initiatives.
- Experience working in regulated sectors such as electricity, utilities, critical infrastructure, or other highly regulated environments would be preferred.
- Experience supporting strategic planning activities, including portfolio management, technology roadmaps, product lifecycle management, or annual business planning would be preferred.
- Exposure to cybersecurity concepts and practices such as Zero Trust, Identity and Access Management IAM, Privileged Access Management PAM, cloud security, security operations, penetration testing, Red Team exercises, vulnerability management, or security remediation would be an asset.
- Exposure to cybersecurity governance, audit, compliance, or risk management initiatives; relevant business analysis or cybersecurity certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, IIBA®-CCA, Security+, or similar credentials are considered an asset.
