JOB OVERVIEW
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of a Regular Analyst - Specialist.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Reliability Compliance this position is responsible for supporting OPG’s adherence to the IESO’s Ontario Reliability Compliance Program for NERC standards, NPCC Directories as well as IESO Market Manuals and Market Rules.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Serve as a point of contact for compliance matters to support OPG’s lines of business to complete the IESO’s Ontario Reliability Compliance Plan.
- Interpret, communicate implement and changes of existing and new NERC, NPCC, as well as IESO standards that will affect OPG.
- Conduct internal audits on NERC, NPCC, and IESO compliance related items for OPG’s lines of business.
- Develop compliance positions for internal items and oversee event reporting for potential violations.
- Chair working group meetings between OPG staff, including OPG upper management, as well as external companies for current and future compliance issues and obligations.
- Represent the Reliability Compliance department at various meetings project scoping, event analysis, training and awareness.
- Maintain knowledge of FERC, NERC, NPCC and IESO stakeholder interests as well as supporting associated public hearings from these entities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 4-year degree in engineering or sciences, preferably in electrical or mechanical engineering
- A minimum of 6 years relevant experience
- The successful candidate requires a strong working knowledge of NERC CIP and/or NERC O&P standards and how they can be implemented
- The successful candidate requires strong communication skills, both written and oral while working with various work groups of different disciplines
- The successful candidate requires strong organization skills to manage deliverables across various project and work groups

This position is moving to OPG Corporate Headquarters: In Summer 2025, OPG will officially welcome employees to our new Corporate Headquarters located at 1908 Colonel Sam Drive, Oshawa, Ontario. This position will be temporarily based Toronto, ON until the move to Headquarters in the Summer of 2025.

The base salary range considers many factors including, but not limited to experience, education, and training, including any collective agreement requirements for union represented positions. It is not typical for the salary to be offered near the top of the range, and salary is dependent on numerous factors. For management roles, the base salary range does not represent the total compensation package.
