JOB OVERVIEW
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of QA Automation Consultant (Tosca/SAP).
Reporting to the Manager, IT Product Delivery, this position is for Intermediate/Senior QA Automation Developer with strong experience in Tricentis Tosca to design, build, and maintain automated test coverage for SAP S/4HANA and related integrations. This role will work closely with SAP functional teams, developers, and integration teams to ensure high-quality releases through scalable automation, risk-based testing, and continuous improvement of QA practices
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test cases using Tricentis Tosca, including modules, test case design, execution lists, and reusable components.
- Develop and implement scalable automation frameworks, including data-driven and risk-based testing strategies and regression test suites for critical business processes.
- Execute end-to-end functional testing across SAP S/4HANA environments (Fiori and/or GUI), ensuring alignment to business requirements and release scope.
- Create and maintain test scenarios, traceability, and coverage, and support UAT through test evidence, defect reproduction, and status reporting.
- Plan and execute integration testing across SAP S/4HANA and external systems (APIs, middleware, file-based interfaces), including data validation and interface monitoring.
- Perform defect management activities, including logging, triaging, root-cause analysis, and validation of fixes in collaboration with developers and functional teams.
- Contribute to QA governance and quality practices, including test standards, entry/exit criteria, and release readiness checkpoints.
- Support CI/CD-driven test execution and continuous improvement, including automation in pipelines, reporting dashboards, and optimization of test data, environments, and QA processes.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Requires a 4-year university education in an appropriate engineering field.
- Proven experience (typically 6+ years) in QA automation with strong hands-on expertise in Tricentis Tosca, including modules, test case design, and execution management.
- Demonstrated experience testing SAP S/4HANA environments (Fiori and/or GUI), with solid understanding of end-to-end business processes and integrations.
- Strong knowledge of automation frameworks, reusable libraries, and data-driven testing approaches to enable scalable and maintainable solutions.
- Experience executing and validating integration testing across APIs, middleware, and system interfaces, including data validation and error handling.
- Hands-on experience in defect management tools (e.g., JIRA, ALM) with ability to perform root-cause analysis and collaborate effectively with developers and functional teams.
- Familiarity with risk-based testing strategies, regression suite optimization, and QA governance practices (test strategy, traceability, entry/exit criteria).
- Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution, along with test reporting, dashboards, and continuous improvement of QA processes.
