JOB OVERVIEW 
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Physical Security System Engineer. 

 

Reporting to the Manager of Engineering, this position is responsible for trouble shooting, designing, problem solving, project support, system performance monitoring of Physical Security Systems (Access Control Systems, Security Management Systems, Fence Detection Systems, CCTV systems, etc) at the Darlington and/or Pickering Nuclear Generating Stations.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES 

•    Prepare system health reports for physical security systems.
•    Manage and improve the preventative maintenance program for physical security systems.
•    Manage and execute Engineering Change Control projects for physical security systems.
•    Develop and maintain software using Visual Basic, C#, or C++.
•    Work with Programmable Logic Controllers in security systems.
•    Manage and maintain relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, and Microsoft Access.
•    Write and optimize SQL queries to enhance system performance.
•    Implement and manage cybersecurity measures in compliance with CSA N290.7-14 standards.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS 
•    4 Year Bachelors Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering (Information Systems focus)
•    2-8 years of relevant engineering experience
•    Proficiency in programming with Assembly language, C language, and low-level microcontroller programming. 
•    Proficiency in Visual Basic, C#, C++, and relational database systems like Oracle and SQL Server.
•    Experience working with Programmable Logic Controllers and security-related hardware.
•    Strong SQL skills, including query writing and optimization.
•    Knowledge of cybersecurity measures and compliance standards such as CSA N290.7-14.

•    Candidate must be able to obtain a Federal Level II (Secret) Security Clearance
•    Candidate must be a fully licensed engineer in the province of Ontario, or be eligible to be licensed in the Province of Ontario (Engineering roles only)

The base salary range considers many factors including, but not limited to experience, education, and training, including any collective agreement requirements for union represented positions. It is not typical for the salary to be offered near the top of the range, and salary is dependent on numerous factors. For management roles, the base salary range does not represent the total compensation package. The total compensation package for regular full-time management roles includes pay-for-performance programs for annual and medium time periods.
