JOB OVERVIEW
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Material Analyst/Buyer.
Reporting to the Supervisor, Supply Chain, this position is responsible to Prepare, process and provide services and technical expertise to effectively support the management of materials inventory and the procurement transactional and contractual function.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Purchase a variety of commodities, equipment and services for customers throughout the Company, of a commercial and technical nature.
- Negotiate contract terms & conditions prior to Purchase Order award.
- Establish and maintain commodity contracts, effective relationships with requisitioners and local, national and international vendor communities to ensure effective procurement planning. Process and administer contract conditions and complex evaluations, claims and adjustments.
- Participate in the maintenance of the materials inventories and availability of same utilizing computerized systems.
- Perform pre-screening activities in preparation for purchasing a variety of commodities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school, plus three years of concentrated study in supply chain management.
- At least 3 years of related working experience
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills

This position is moving to OPG Corporate Headquarters: In Summer 2025, OPG will officially welcome employees to our new Corporate Headquarters located at 1908 Colonel Sam Drive, Oshawa, Ontario. This position will be temporarily based in Ajax, ON until the move to Headquarters in the Summer of 2025.

The base salary range considers many factors including, but not limited to experience, education, and training, including any collective agreement requirements for union represented positions. It is not typical for the salary to be offered near the top of the range, and salary is dependent on numerous factors. For management roles, the base salary range does not represent the total compensation package. The total compensation package for regular full-time management roles includes pay-for-performance programs for annual and medium time periods.
