JOB OVERVIEW

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Lead Integration Architect.

 

Reporting to the (RA) insert reporting to manager’s title, this position is responsible for designing, documenting, and delivering enterprise integration solutions that support scalable, secure, and resilient data exchanges across enterprise platforms and applications. This role ensures systems are integrated in a secure, maintainable, and scalable manner while facilitating collaboration across IT and business teams.

 

The role serves as a senior hands-on subject matter expert responsible for guiding enterprise integration strategy, standards, governance, and architecture design. The role collaborates closely with Enterprise Architecture, Development, Cloud Engineering, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, and Business stakeholders to ensure integration solutions support operational efficiency, modernization initiatives, and long-term enterprise technology objectives.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES 

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise integration architectures that support large-scale business initiatives, digital transformation programs, and modernization projects.
  • Develop scalable, secure, and resilient integration solutions that enable seamless data exchange across enterprise applications, cloud platforms, and business systems.
  • Define and maintain enterprise integration standards, governance frameworks, architecture patterns, and best practices to ensure consistency and long-term sustainability.
  • Design and govern API strategies, service-oriented architectures, messaging frameworks, and interoperability solutions that support enterprise-wide connectivity.
  • Architect cloud and hybrid integration solutions, leveraging Azure services and modern integration technologies to support business and technology objectives.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Development, Infrastructure, Cloud, Cybersecurity, and business stakeholders to align integration solutions with organizational priorities and strategic roadmaps.
  • Produce and maintain architecture artifacts, technical specifications, integration patterns, and design documentation while leading architecture reviews and technical assessments.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to project teams, evaluate emerging technologies, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and support operational excellence through effective incident resolution and platform optimization.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Four-year university degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Between 8 and 10 years of progressive experience in enterprise integration, solution architecture, or application architecture roles, including at least 3 years leading enterprise architecture initiatives.
  • Extensive experience designing, implementing, and governing enterprise integration solutions across large, complex, and highly integrated technology environments.
  • Advanced knowledge of enterprise integration architecture, API management, middleware technologies, event-driven systems, cloud integration platforms, and secure data exchange frameworks.
  • Demonstrated expertise delivering cloud-native and hybrid integration solutions within Microsoft Azure environments, including synchronous, asynchronous, event-driven, and batch processing models.
  • Proven experience leading architecture governance reviews, developing integration standards, and supporting strategic modernization and digital transformation programs.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and operational support capabilities, including incident management, root-cause analysis, platform optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and leadership skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-focused outcomes, mentor technical teams, and influence enterprise technology strategy.
  • Professional certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, TOGAF, Azure Integration Services Certification, Cloud Architecture Certification, and Enterprise Integration Certification are considered strong assets.

The total compensation package for regular full-time management roles includes pay-for-performance programs for annual and medium time periods.
