JOB OVERVIEW
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic, and results-driven professional to join our team as an IT Audit Associate.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Internal Audit, this position will be accountable for assisting with the preparation, testing, and execution of audit programs and various techniques to identify control gaps and efficiency opportunities.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Execute Internal Audit engagements and participate in internal audit initiatives, research and benchmarking activities, while supporting and assist with external requests for audit information and assist with developing and updating audit manuals, procedures and governance
- Analyze test results, summarize details and advise internal audit management of audit findings and conclusions. This includes the use of data analytics software and visualization tools to prepare analytics and dashboard to support audit conclusions.
- Participate in discussions with client management at audit review meetings. Perform inquiries and communicate test results and observations such requires being accountable to provide interpretation of audit policies and processes to influence auditees to accept recommendations for actions to meet compliances.
- Participate in the annual company-wide ICOFR certification process by providing advice, training and guidance to stakeholders in fulfilling the CEO/CFO certification requirements, monitor regulatory developments that may impact ICOFR, and assist internal audit management in implementing program changes to meet industry best practices.
- Participate in the quarterly company-wide material change survey process. Evaluate survey responses and advise internal audit management of potential impact to process documentation, process design effectiveness, testing strategy and procedures.
- Prepare and complete audit procedures and advise internal audit management of deficiencies and potential areas for process improvements.

- Carry out liaison with external auditors to understand their requests and advise internal audit management of high priority areas within ICOFR that require alignment with the external auditors.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Requires a four-year university education in accounting or business-related disciplines.
- Requires over 4 years and up to and including 6 years is considered necessary to gain this experience.
- Requires CISA certification(must have), and nice to have: CISSP, CISM, CIA, CA, or CGA.
- Requires practical experience to have gained an understanding of audit process, techniques and associated professional standards (e.g. Institute of Internal Auditors' Code of Ethics and International Standards for Professional Practice of Internal Auditing).
- Requires experience and/or exposure by working in operational and financial auditing, including audit program preparation, business process risk assessment, and internal control evaluation.
- Requires a knowledge of auditing, accounting and/or finance principles and practices, this knowledge is required to prepare audit programs and apply various auditing techniques to complete test procedures, analyze results to identify control gaps and efficiency opportunities
- Requires experience working in a team environment, building client relationships, and being flexible to adapt to changes in direction, while achieving quality deliverables within timelines.

This position is moving to OPG Corporate Headquarters: In Summer 2025, OPG will officially welcome employees to our new Corporate Headquarters located at 1908 Colonel Sam Drive, Oshawa, Ontario. This position will be temporarily based in Toronto, ON until the move to Headquarters in the Summer of 2025.

The base salary range considers many factors including, but not limited to experience, education, and training, including any collective agreement requirements for union represented positions. It is not typical for the salary to be offered near the top of the range, and salary is dependent on numerous factors. For management roles, the base salary range does not represent the total compensation package. The total compensation package for regular full-time management roles includes pay-for-performance programs for annual and medium time periods.
