JOB OVERVIEW
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Audit Associate.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Internal Audit, this position involves assisting with the preparation, testing and execution of audit programs and various techniques to identify control gaps and efficiency opportunities.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Prepare and complete audit programs aligned with professional standards, using data analytics and visualization tools to support conclusions.
- Summarize test results, identify control gaps, and advise internal audit management on findings and recommendations.
- Participate in audit review meetings, communicate observations, and influence compliance through interpretation of audit policies.
- Track and report on the status and resolution of management actions addressing identified deficiencies.
- Contribute to compliance-based audit programs by monitoring governance, business strategies, and regulatory changes.
- Assist in annual CEO/CFO certification and quarterly material change surveys, providing guidance and evaluating impacts on processes.
- Create presentations for senior leadership, coordinate with external auditors, and ensure alignment on ICFR priorities.
- Maintain professional relationships, update audit manuals, support internal initiatives, and monitor regulatory developments impacting audit practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 4-year university education in Accounting, Finance, Technology or Business-related disciplines.
- Minimum 4 years of relevant working experience in audit, risk management, and/or finance.
- Requires minimum 2 years of proven ICFR and ITGC testing experience.
- Experience working on a variety of audits including operational, financial, compliance, and/or IT.
