JOB OVERVIEW 
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Advisor, HR Analytics. 

 

Reporting to the Sr Manager, Workforce Analytics & Reporting, this position is responsible to help ensure that OPG’s business leaders have the supporting analytics and data they need when making decisions regarding workforce planning initiatives and labour relations strategies.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES  

  • Contribute to specialized analysis, reports and support line management in making better decisions on human resources issues related to human capital management, workforce planning, succession planning, labour relations, compensation and benefits, financial planning, performance reporting and regulatory/external reporting.
  • Support development and maintenance of workforce planning information, models, and analysis by monitoring and providing current and historical staff information and reports such as staff levels, movements, hires, attritions and statistical reports to examine trends.
  • Participate on and support teams to address complex human resources issues that require new approaches, complex solutions, specialized expertise and knowledge of human resources data, information systems, processes, and specialized analysis, applications and tools.

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • 4-year University education in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, and/or equivalent experience
  • 1-4 years of progressive experience in a technical / data analytics position.
  • Experience with data processing, data analytics, and database programming.
  • Strong ability to understand various data structures and common methods in data transformation.
  • Proven analytical skills, experience working with large data sets and databases. 
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, Access, and Power BI or equivalent visualization tools.
  • Looking for a team player with strong problem-solving skills and capabilities of also effectively working independently. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

This position is moving to OPG Corporate Headquarters: In Summer 2025, OPG will officially welcome employees to our new Corporate Headquarters located at 1908 Colonel Sam Drive, Oshawa, Ontario. This position will be temporarily based in Toronto, ON until the move to Headquarters in the Summer of 2025.

The base salary range considers many factors including, but not limited to experience, education, and training, including any collective agreement requirements for union represented positions. It is not typical for the salary to be offered near the top of the range, and salary is dependent on numerous factors. For management roles, the base salary range does not represent the total compensation package. The total compensation package for regular full-time management roles includes pay-for-performance programs for annual and medium time periods.
