JOB OVERVIEW 

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is excited to offer one (1) student opportunity in our Fleet Maintenance Training Department in Tiverton, ON (Western Waste Management Facility). This is a four (4) or eight (8) month student placement commencing in May, 2019.

 

All students applying for student positions at OPG must meet the below eligibility:

  • Enrolled in full-time studies at a post-secondary institution.
  • Have a minimum average of 70% cumulative GPA.
  • Returning to full-time studies in the same program following the completion of the work term OR requiring the work term or co-op placement to graduate.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES   

  • Assisting with developing/revising/assessing/organizing training material.
  • Involved with training program oversight meetings and actions, including preparation of training metrics.
  • Assisting with processing of training documentation/records and training credit inputs.
  • Assist with training delivery and facilitation.

     

EDUCATION 

  • Minimum completion of 1st year at a University or College specializing in Education/Teaching, Business or related discipline.

     

QUALIFICATIONS 

Preference may be given to the candidate who has the following skills and qualifications:

  • A valid G2 or higher driver's license is an asset.
  • Good organizational and research skills.
  • Computer/database/spreadsheet knowledge.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

 

This job will provide you with the following professional development:

  • Knowledge and experience with the Systematic Approach to Training.
  • Communication skills, including presentations.
  • Corporate experience and working with a variety of stakeholders.
