JOB OVERVIEW
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Technical Engineer/Officer with Nuclear Sustainability Services - Minor Modifications.
Reporting to the Manager - Design Engineering, this position is responsible for overseeing projects as the Modification Team Lead and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met and adhere to.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Responsible to lead modification team and manages the safety, resources, risks, scope, cost and schedule of assigned modifications;
• Develop modification plan, contracting strategy, procurement plan, and installation & commissioning plan to ensure modifications are implemented in timely manner and event free;
• Leading and monitoring Modification Outline package, tracking design completion, tracking work order assessment, material deliveries, preparing and conducting Constructability, Operability, Maintainability, and Safety (COMS) meeting.
• Represent Nuclear Sustainability Services Minor Modifications and provide update in various meeting such as Modification Oversight Committee Meetings, Outage Meetings, Work Management Meetings and Minor Modification Working Meetings;
• Preparing Business Case Summary and knowledge of gated process for capital projects funding approval;
• Perform field inspections, acceptance and approvals;
• Prepare Preliminary Engineering Packages for Permanent Modifications and Temporary Modifications;
• Maintain written processes and procedures to reflect improved operating methods and additions to all supported systems;
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Applied Science Degree
• Minimum of at least 2 years of relevant experience
• Project Lead or Project Manager experience required, preferably with OPG or Nuclear Industry;
• Modification Team Leader experience is preferred;
• Knowledge of OPG’s ECC Process (Engineering Change Control) will be an asset;
• Experience and ability as a team player to understand and manage the interrelationships of various internal and external groups in order to facilitate objectives and ensure projects satisfy stakeholder requirements;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and must be comfortable leading meetings and giving presentations;
• Familiar with Chestnut Park Accord Addendum (CPAA), PSA and ES-MSA process, Work Management Process W-PROC-WM-0008, Online execution W-PROC-WM-0095 and Outage execution W-PROC-WM-0092;
• P.Eng and/or PMP certification is preferred.

The base salary range considers many factors including, but not limited to experience, education, and training, including any collective agreement requirements for union represented positions. It is not typical for the salary to be offered near the top of the range, and salary is dependent on numerous factors. For management roles, the base salary range does not represent the total compensation package. The total compensation package for regular full-time management roles includes pay-for-performance programs for annual and medium time periods.
