Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is seeking a result’s driven leader to join our Maintenance Team based out of our Tiverton, ON facility adjacent to the Bruce Nuclear Generating Station, in the Kincardine, Bruce County area. 


Reporting to the Director, Western Waste Operations, the Maintenance Plant Manager is accountable for the supervision, management and control of activities to ensure the execution of preventive and corrective maintenance are carried out efficiently and safely with the highest level of service; on-time and within budget.

  • Manage the execution of preventive and corrective maintenance activities by maintenance trades.
  • Ensure team members perform maintenance activities in accordance with OPG standards and site maintenance procedures.
  • Provide leadership to teams of unionized workers; ensuring implementation of collective agreements for the work at hand.
  • Ensure employees performing maintenance activities are trained and qualified to perform them.
  • Conduct on-the-job training.
  • Review work plans, contracts and design packages.
  • Continually seek out and pursue opportunities to improve the maintenance program and increase the performance of site operations.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Applied Science OR Technical College Degree with relevant experience
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P. Eng) designation in good standing with Professional Engineers Ontario (or equivalent) considered an asset
  • Trade certificate for Civil or Electrical or I&C or Mechanical trades considered an asset



  • Experience within a heavily regulated/procedural Industrial/Utility organization (Nuclear is preferred);
  • Prior experience and knowledge of working on Nuclear reactor systems/buildings is highly desirable;
  • Leadership/training abilities;
  • Experience supervising unionized staff including conflict resolution;
  • Exhibits strong leadership qualities and possesses well-developed analytical and communication skills (verbal and written);
  • Experience in directing work in a technical service environment;
  • Demonstrated ability to provide direction, including providing advice and influencing personnel to make good decisions, improve inspection equipment performance and successfully implement component/equipment upgrade programs;
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work activities to satisfy changing requirements;
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately control costs and work performance;
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others to achieve results;
  • Experience in developing and implementing technical solutions;
  • Experience in directing troubleshooting activities when equipment fails to operate;
  • Experience in adding value to the results obtained by staff through concise and accurate reports;
  • Possesses a valid driver’s licence.
