JOB OVERVIEW
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Civil Maintainer.
Reporting to the First Line Manager, Civil Maintenance, this position is responsible to ensure all work is completed safely and efficiently in accordance with established procedures and standards, while supporting the ongoing operation and integrity of site facilities.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Sorting and Segregation of nuclear waste
- Wearing respiratory protection ie PAPR and comfo for long period of times
- Perform work with designated substances, sampling and repackaging
- Using computers to input inventory changes, use asset suite, word and inventory software EMWASTE
- Using heavy tool like jaws of life to deconstruct metal objects
- Operate heavy equipment to move inventory and unload trucks
- Safely operate power tools, forklifts, mobile and stationary cranes, trucks, and other equipment required for civil maintenance and material handling.
- Receive, store, issue, deliver, and ship materials, tools, and equipment; perform inventory verification and reconciliation; operate computer-controlled inventory systems.
- Ensure personal and workplace safety in accordance with technical procedures and standards; carry out decontamination checks, custodial tasks, and waste handling activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Highschool Diploma, or equivalent.
- AZ Driver’s License qualification
- Heavy equipment operation would be an asset
- Asbestos Abatement Certification would be an asset.
- Experience operating power tools, forklifts, cranes, and related equipment.
- Knowledge of safety procedures, including radiation protection and contamination control.
- Experience with computer systems such as Excel, Word, WMS
- Experience with e-waste considered an asset
- Experience working in a safety based, attention to detail-oriented environment
- Maintains, operates, and uses power tools, equipment and hand tools related to Civil
- Maintenance functions to carry out work assignments.
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal, planning and organizational skills

The base salary range considers many factors including, but not limited to experience, education, and training, including any collective agreement requirements for union represented positions. It is not typical for the salary to be offered near the top of the range, and salary is dependent on numerous factors. For management roles, the base salary range does not represent the total compensation package. The total compensation package for regular full-time management roles includes pay-for-performance programs for annual and medium time periods.
