JOB OVERVIEW

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of TWE Technician.

 

Reporting to the TWE Supervisor, this position is responsible for servicing, installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining all off-road and on-road Transport and Work Equipment (T&WE), as well as supporting inventory, documentation, and compliance activities to ensure the safe and efficient operation of OPG’s equipment fleet.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Service, maintain, inspect, diagnose, repair, modify, and move all off-road and on-road Transport and Work Equipment (T&WE)
• Operate a variety of portable and stationary tools for boring, cutting, reaming, grinding, drilling, welding, rigging, and hoisting
• Complete required certifications of equipment or systems to meet internal and external regulations
• Install and test communications equipment on T&WE
• Assess equipment, identify parts requirements, and initiate parts orders
• Assist in the specification, evaluation, design, fabrication, and modification of equipment and components
• Prepare and maintain maintenance documentation, including procedures, spare parts lists, training manuals, maintenance records, and reports
• Carry out work protection code (WPC) activities up to the level trained, and ensure good housekeeping and fire prevention practices

 

QUALIFICATIONS
• Grade 12 education or equivalent
• Certificate of Qualifications in the appropriate trade (Automotive Service Technician License 310S and Truck & Coach Technician License 310T)
• Preference for candidates with Heavy Equipment Technician endorsement 421A
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience servicing and maintaining a variety of transport and work equipment
• Proficient in diagnosing, repairing, and modifying mechanical systems and components
• Skilled in the use of hand, power, and stationary tools for mechanical and fabrication tasks
• Strong understanding of safety procedures, regulations, and documentation practices
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
