JOB OVERVIEW

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Workplace/Space Planning Specialist. 

 

Reporting to the Project Director, this position is responsible for providing a space planning and design service pertaining to the workplace and the surrounding office/facility environment.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES 

  • Plan and organize all office accommodation or other space design work including required furniture and/or furnishings, and interior design options to ensure that they are assigned in accordance with existing space standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Operate computerized, automated drafting systems, tools and computers necessary to perform the work. Review work in progress and provide guidance to achieve consistency with approved policies, standards, and procedures and compliance with any governmental safety codes, regulations and by-laws. 
  • Develop and prepare any required detailed cost estimates, technical specifications and/or drawings. 
  • Maintain all related project data for planning, statistical and historical purposes by ensuring that a detailed log recording significant details for each project, and all pertinent data including drawings, from start to completion. 
  • Participate in the development of standards, procedures and policies as they relate to the allocation and design of space, furnishings, etc. within the Company.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school plus a three-year course of study in Interior Design or Architectural Technology.
  • 1-3 years of AutoCAD experience.
  • 1-3 years Computer Aided Facility Management(CAFM) or Building Information Management (BIM) experience.
  • 1-3 years of project coordination experience.
  • Ontario Building Code Knowledge and experience.
