JOB OVERVIEW
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our Engineering Support & Services team in the role of Technical Engineer/Officer.
Reporting to the Manager of Engineering, this position is responsible to contribute to Ontario Power Generation by coordinating and collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to understand schedules, finances and performance for the assigned projects
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Develop performance improvement strategies for OPG engineering
• Support continuous organization improvement by automating metrics, streamlining processes, and driving performance
• Proactively identifying areas of improvement and implementing initiatives working with diverse groups and levels of Management throughout OPG, while successfully managing a variety of challenges
• Maintaining written documented processes to reflect improved operating methods
• Arrange and lead meetings to coordinate the requirements of engineering and OPG internal stakeholder groups
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Applied Science
• 2-8 years of related engineering experience
• Proven ability to understand and automate metrics to streamline processes and enhance performance.
• Demonstrated expertise in maintaining process compliance throughout project execution.
• Proficiency in using tools such as Asset Suite, ePMX/Resolver, Microsft Suite, with a focus on data management and analysis in Excel and PowerBI.
• Experience working with an Engineering Change Control (ECC) processes, ensuring effective implementation and adherence to standards.
• Strong understanding of governance and procedures, with an analytical and inquisitive approach to problem-solving and execution.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience leading team meetings and delivering impactful presentations.
• Candidate must be a fully licensed engineer in the provice of Ontario, or be eligble to be licensed in the Province of Ontario

This position is moving to OPG Corporate Headquarters: In Summer 2025, OPG will officially welcome employees to our new Corporate Headquarters located at 1908 Colonel Sam Drive, Oshawa, Ontario. This position will be temporarily based in Ajax, ON until the move to Headquarters in the Summer of 2025.

The base salary range considers many factors including, but not limited to experience, education, and training, including any collective agreement requirements for union represented positions. It is not typical for the salary to be offered near the top of the range, and salary is dependent on numerous factors. For management roles, the base salary range does not represent the total compensation package. The total compensation package for regular full-time management roles includes pay-for-performance programs for annual and medium time periods.
