General Office Clerks

Ontario Power Generation’s (OPG’s) general office clerks provide clerical support to departments in cases of work overload, vacation, special projects or position vacancies.  Assignments are typically 35 hours per week and employees are placed for positions based on availability, security clearance, qualifications and skills.

Temporary assignments can be up to 1 year.

General office clerks must have:

  • A minimum of two years' experience in general office procedures to carry out file maintenance activities, associated records functions, and conventional office administration;
  • Keyboard skills with a minimum typing speed of 40 accurate words per minute; and
  • Advanced proficiency in software applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) 

Please note a clerical test for Microsoft Applications and Typing will be administered.

Administrative Professional

As a dynamic administrative professional, you will work in an environment where you will contribute to OPG’s continued growth and success in generating safe, clean, and reliable low-cost power in a sustainable manner.

Reporting to a senior level executive, the administrative professional will be responsible for the day-to-day administrative support of the senior level executive and their department in such areas as correspondence, meeting arrangements and scheduling, time management, information maintenance and general office support. 

Administrative Professionals must have:

  • College diploma or certificate in office administration, executive administration or office assistant;
  • 5-8 years of administrative experience supporting senior managers in a broad range of office functions;
  • Advanced proficiency in software applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Access); and
  • 50 wpm keyboard skills with a high degree of accuracy
